Strong 2014 Hurricane Season Predicted
Global Weather Oscillations (aka GWO) is the weather prediction company who made the best hurricane season predictions for the last 5 years. They say the 2014 hurricane season will be a strong one.
17 Storms in 2014
According the David Dilley, CEO of GWO, the 2014 season is predicted to have 17 named storms, 8 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes. The average hurricane season has 12 storms.
The company has been very successful predicting storms and hurricanes in the past, using advanced technologies and weather modeling techniques to predict weather patterns for each major zone in the United States. GWO was the only organization that was correct in predicting a very weak 2013 hurricane season due to hostile upper atmospheric wind shear, and that the United States coast would not have a hurricane strike. As it turned out, hostile wind shear dominated the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico region during most the 2013 hurricane season.
David Dilley’s Approach to Climate
David Dilley, the CEO, is a former NOAA meteorologist and formed Global Weather Oscillations Inc. (GWO) in 1992 with the specific understanding that weather and climate occurs in cycles. He believes that, while man plays some role in climate change, most climate changes are primarily attributable to weather cycles. He disputes the notion that hurricanes occur randomly and are impossible to predict. He states “There are no random hurricanes, everything occurs in cycles.”
